A puffin collecting flowers on Skellig Michael, Ireland
I’ve visited here!! It’s about an hour off the Irish coast and the site of a 7th century monastic complex of little stone beehive-shaped huts. You might know it as the filming location of the “Jedi island” from the sequels, where the “porgs” were invented to digitally conceal these fellows. Maybe my favourite place I have ever visited
The puffins on this island are extremely plentiful and bold. I wonder, what did those monks think of them when they shared their home all alone in the middle of the sea? And what did the puffins think of the monks?
